This research focuses on the high-cycle fatigue behavior of short fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites under hygro-thermo-mechanical loading and the investigation of fracture mechanisms characteristic for this material. The objective of this research is to develop predictive tools capable of estimating fatigue life and to formulate new failure criteria for these materials under coupled complex loading based on the results of X-ray computed tomography and acquired mechanical and thermal response.
