The proposed research focuses on enhancing the sensitivity and accuracy of High-Speed 3D Digital Image Correlation (HS 3D DIC) for the detection and quantification of small subsurface structural damage. The main goal is to optimize experimental parameters and develop advanced algorithms for processing vibration mode shapes to enable structural damage identification. Expected outcomes include validated measurement procedures, a toolbox of novel algorithms, and a methodology for subsurface damage assessment.
