The group from the Technical University of Košice visited us within the implemented bilateral Polish-Slovak project related to high-speed 3D DIC and its application for structural damage identification for common experiments and data processing as well as planning future activities within the project.

During Scientists' Night at the Silesian Univeristy of Technology Andrzej Katunin gave a lecture on vibrations and after lecture Dominik Wachla and Jafar Amraei demonstrated experimentally the phenomenon of mechanical resonance by showing Chladni figures.
Jafar Amraei implemented his research internship at the Politecnico di Milano. His research was focused on damage identification in composite structures using active thermography techniques. The internship was supported from the Excellence Initiative - Research University Program at the Silesian Univeristy of Technology.
Jafar Amraei gave a talk "Rheometric Testing for Simulation of the Self-Heating Effect in Polymer-Matrix Composite Plates" at the Experimental Stress Analysis Conference in Czech Republic and won the Prof. Stanislav Holy Award for his presentation.

Jafar Amraei peroformed a workshop within the initiative of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 in the Kato Science Center. His workshop was focused on showing connections between fatigue in materials and in human body as well as advices on how to manage stress.
Andrzej Katunin started implementation of his research internship at the Technical University of Kosice. His research is focused on damage identification using digital image correlation technique. The internship is supported from the National Scholarship Programme of Slovak Republic.
We are glad to announce that Prof. Paulo N.B. Reis will implement his scholarship focused on self-heating of composites funded from the National Agency of Academic Exchange within the Ulam programme with the SIA research group in 2024.
